How does the laser cutter get to my school?
It is the responsibility of the sending and receiving school to coordinate transportation of the machine and all equipment.
How long will the laser cutter be at my school?
The machine will be at each school for 3 weeks.
Who cleans the machine?
Each school at the end of their 3 week loan is responsible for cleaning the machine. Cleaning materials have been provided, instructions included with the machine and posted online.
How do I know if I have all the parts needed for the machine?
A packing list is provided with the machine, it is also provided online
Who supplies the materials for burning with the laser?
The school who is using the machine is responsible for providing their own materials.
What materials can I burn with the laser cutter?
Please consult the epilog.com website or the user manual for appropriate materials.
PVC/Vinyl must never be used in the machine. It is toxic for the user and will destroy the machine
Where can I purchase wood for the laser cutter?
In Whitehorse, Home Hardware and Kilrich both sell 1/8 and ¼ inch Baltic birch plywood. For a small fee, home hardware will also cut it. The cutting bed of the laser cutter is 12x18 maximum
I want to adjust when we have access to the machine, who do I contact?
Contact the school you want to swap dates with and if it is agreeable to both parties, contact Lisa.Keenan@gov.yk. so the master schedule can be updated.
